Survivors need you

Survivors need to know that the community cares for them. Survivors need support. Survivors need YOU. Their time at First Step is temporary,  but they still need the basic necessities to make their stay as comfortable and safe as possible. Thanks to community support, survivors are able to access basic necessities at First Step.

First Step Fridays

Each month, our Community Engagement Coordinator will host a video to discuss different topics that remain important to us within the world of Domestic Violence. As community members, we have the power to shift attitudes and prevent violence within our community. Tune in, every third Friday of the month and follow us on Facebook to see the latest!

“First Step: A Response to Domestic Violence empowers individuals through support, advocacy, and education. We are committed to the elimination of domestic violence in our community.”

You just read our mission statement. But do you know who is behind that mission?

Survivors, volunteers, first responders, & advocates are behind the mission. Donors, partner organizations, & funders are behind the mission.

YOU are behind the mission. You’re reading this because you care about domestic violence survivors and their loved ones. Behind the Mission is more than just a monthly newsletter – it takes you on a journey to discover who is behind First Step’s mission. We love interacting with you on social media, but we wanted a different way of connecting with you.

Sign up for our monthly e-newsletter, Behind the Mission, to receive updates on how you’re impacting survivors of domestic violence.
